Donating on a Dime! Toy Story 3 Operation for $1 at Target and Wal-Mart!

Every year around Christmas, my husband and I try to donate something.  We either take a child's name off of those trees in Wal-Mart or get gifts for a family in need.  Well, this year we are living on a tight budget since I have gone back to school, and I was worried Christmas was not going to be so great this year.  I was trying to look for deals in clearance aisles and will continue to do so until Christmas.  However, using coupons and price matching is another great way to get GREAT gifts for cheap.

I picked up 4 Toy Story 3 Operation games this weekend, regularly priced between $14 and $17 dollars depending on whether you go to Wal-Mart or Target.  I walked out paying $5.20 for all four boxes including tax.  See above.  These are BRAND NEW games that I paid just $1 for!  I was so excited that now we will be able to donate to FOUR different children this Christmas for a little over $5.

I am sure you are wondering HOW I did this?  Well, Target and Wal-Mart will price match a CURRENT competitors ad.  So, Big Lots has this game on sale this week for $5.  See ad below.  You need to bring a copy of the CURRENT ad with the price listed into your Wal-Mart or Target and head up to Customer Service for a price match.  I also used 4 $4 dollar Operation coupons which were in the 9-11-11 Smart Source from the AJC.

You can also print the coupons on the Hasbro website to get the deal; however, they may give you trouble because the coupon says you can only use it on the item pictured, which is the original Operation game; however, they let me use it at Wal-Mart yesterday.

This Christmas we are going to be giving a lot of DIY gifts; however, I still think everyone will end up happy.

How do you plan on saving money during tough times but still getting great gifts this year?
